It is a matter of great honor for the college that Prof. Dr. A.C. Vaid, after a long and glorious stint as our Principal has been elevated a Pro. Vice Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, Gurgaon. He is respected as a brilliant academician and an excellent administrator under whose leadership the college has made immense progress by introducing numerous innovative courses and by receiving various distinctions like sky “College with potential for Excellence”, “Star College in Life Sciences” besides getting special grants under schemes like BSR Scheme of UGC, FIST by Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India etc. Dr. Vaid has made a tremendous contribution in the field of academics by authoring more than fifty books along with guiding major research projects and coordinating a number of training programmes organized by Reserve Bank of India, NABARD, Institute of Chartered Accountants, Institute of Company Secretaries etc. it is because of his sterling contribution to the field of education and pragmatic approach that the has been conferred with scores of prestigious awards including Achiever of the Millennium Award, Eminent Educationist Award, Contribution to Higher Education Award, National Education Excellence Award, Shiksha Rattan Award, Meritorious Educational Excellence Award Etc. Apart from holding converted offices of Panjab Univeristy by being Senator and Syndic since 2000, he has been member of many important committees at national and regional level. Inspite of always aiming for the sky Dr. Vaid never lost touch with the underprivileged and downtrodden and has patronized number of significant social welfare programmes from time to time. We wish him a brilliant future and success all the way in his new assignment.
Mrs. Meena Prabhakar
Mrs. Meena Prabhakar took charge as the officiating Principal of the college on 14 July 2011 when the management entrusted her with the responsibility of leading the institution. Always graceful and wise, she projects a calm demeanour. Having joined the college in 1973, she has has held various prominent positions. Besides heading the Music Department, she has been the Vice-Principal and registrar of the college since 1995. Performing every duty and charge given to her with ease and proficiency, she has proved to be an able and efficient administrator. Being spiritually inclined, she always encourages the celebration of festivals with traditional fervor and enthusiasm and marks every beginning with a prayer to the Almighty. She is carrying the baton of guiding the institution forward on to the path of greater glory and success confidently and competently.
